Approximately 100 bags of rice and assorted food supplies were urgently delivered to the Rundi Bin IDP camp in Bauchi as emergency relief for internally displaced persons.

The Deputy General Manager of Resettlement and Early Recovery from the Humanitarian Affairs Directorate of the Northeast Development Commission led a delegation to address the aftermath of a fire outbreak at the camp, aiming to alleviate the displaced individuals’ suffering.

During the visit, the delegation expressed sympathy for the recent inferno and acknowledged the broader challenges faced by the camp’s residents.

They plan to recommend targeted interventions to address these issues effectively.

Muhammad Sani Umar emphasized the Commission’s comprehensive approach, focusing on education, health, water supply, hygiene, and various developmental initiatives.

He urged community members to collaborate with the government through self-help initiatives, leveraging the opportunities facilitated by the government’s enabling environment.
