Deputy Chairman of MWARI Youth Development Association Comrade Zakka Faruk has labelled parallel organisers of the 21st memorial lecture of late Baba Peter Gonto for panning the embers of disunity among Zaar people.
The Deputy Chairman stated this while addressing a press conference in Bauchi on Tuesday.
He said the sponsored groups have laid siege on the true organisers of the lecture aiming to create disunity and promote feelings of ill will among the Zaar Nation of Tafawabalewa and Bogoro local government areas of Bauchi State.
“To our greatest dismay, we saw an invitation card circulating in the name of the family of Baba peter Gonto in conjunction with our national body, ZDA National.
“One will be right to say this event is aimed to create a problem and more disunity among ourselves, and if not properly handled, it will create chaos and insecurity.
“Visible on the invitation card, one will notice that many prominent names of Zaar sons and daughters are missing. Notable of all is the deliberate refusal to recognise the most important figure in the land, Gung Zaar Select and his council,” Comrade Zaka said.
He said MWARI Youth unilaterally reject any event organised ostensibly to honour Baba Petter by any group other than the heirs of MWARI people, adding that authorities in Bauchi should parallel organisers of such event responsible for any breach of peace in MWARI land.
He said late Baba Peter Gonto lived and died struggling for the emancipation and actualisation of Zaar Chiefdom in Bauchi State.
Leadership recalls that Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed recently set up a high powered committee on the creation of Zaar Chiefdom.
