Bauchi State Governor and Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, Bala Mohammed, has downplayed threats made by Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, to “put fire” in states of PDP governors attempting to hijack the party’s structure in Rivers State.
Bala Mohammed confidently stated that “nobody can put fire in Bauchi” because the state has plenty of water.
During a courtesy visit from the National Working Committee of the PDP, Governor Bala Mohammed emphasized that the crisis rocking the party is not personal and urged against misunderstandings.
He viewed the visit as a demonstration of the party’s unity and connection to its founding values.
Mohammed acknowledged that internal conflicts are inevitable but stressed the importance of leadership in addressing these issues.
He advocated for adherence to the rule of law, respect for diversity, and putting personal interests aside.
The governor proudly highlighted the PDP’s history and contributions to national development, noting that since the party left power, little progress has been made, and assured effective leadership and meaningful opposition as Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum.
Earlier leader of the team Kamaldeen Adeyemi Ajibade, who is the National Legal Adviser of the PDP, commended Mohammed’s courage and excellent performance as governor.
Ajibade confirmed the National Working Committee’s support for the Governors Forum under Mohammed’s leadership, pledging to implement its decisions.
