Abductors of Bogoro Woman, Baby Demand N1.5m Ransom

The gunmen who abducted one Hajiya Khadija Ardo, 40, and her baby have demanded payment of N1,500,000 as a prerequisite for their release.

Malam Idi Wakili, Chairman Meytti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria Bogoro local government disclosed this to reporters in Bauchi on Friday.

The Chairman said that the abductors demanded N20,000,000 before the figure was further negotiated down to N1,500,000.

“Yes, we had been in touch with the kidnappers. For the first time, they demanded over 20 million naira but agreed to release the woman if one million five hundred thousand naira can be paid to them.

“So far, the kidnappers have assured us that the woman and her baby are in their custody and that they are all doing fine. I want to appeal to members of the public to pray for the safe return of the woman.

“I want to use this avenue to inform all our members to be security-conscious and report people with questionable character to the nearest authority concerned,” he said.

Khadija Audu Ardo and her baby of Tsamiya village in Boi, Bogoro local government area of Bauchi State were kidnapped by unknown gunmen on Monday night and the security personnel in the area were quickly mobilised.
