Bauchi state government has commenced bidding process for the privatization of some ailing industries in a bid to create Job opportunities and improve economic activities.
During the bidding exercise conducted in Government House Bauchi, the state deputy governor, Senator Baba Tela while briefing journalist after meeting some investors said ten prospective investors have indicated interest in the identified properties.
The Deputy governor who is also the State Chairman Bureau of Public Privatization and Economic Reforms Senator Baba Tela said the move was part of the economic reforms initiated by Governor Bala Mohammed led administration towards resuscitating the ailing industries.
He further assured that the workers in the affected companies would not be victimized as a result of the development adding that government was only concern on strengthening operations of the properties and providing jobs to the teaming unemployed Youth across the state.
On his part, the Secretary to the State Government Barrister Ibrahim Kashim who said the highest bidder from the prospective investors may be considered, assured of transferancy in the entire process.
The properties slated for the privitazation include Bauchi Fertilizer Company, Bauchi Meat Factory, Galambi Cattle ranch, Zaranda Hotel, Bauchi Furniture and Wikki Hotels and Tours.
