The Adamawa state police command say it has arrested three suspects who allegedly raped a mentally ill woman and two other minors in the state’s township.
The suspects, Kwallan John, 23, and Imamu Abdurrahman, 21, from Dirma village in Song local council, were arrested on June 19 and subsequently charged with criminal conspiracy.
According to police report, the suspects had lured a 35-year-old mentally ill woman into an uncompleted apartment before taking turns to rape her.
Sulaiman Nguroje, the command’s spokesman, disclosed that they were rounded up following a distress call from one Simon Dauda of Dirma village.
In another development, Dauda Idris a taxi driver was also landed in police net for an alleged defilement of two minors in Jiddel village, Adamawa State.
According to Nguroje, Idris was arrested after he was reported to the police by one Margret Dali, mother to the two victims.
The police command added that the suspect had raped the two minor severally, while threatening to kill them should they report him.
Meanwhile, the state’s commissioner of police, Sikiru Akande has ordered a discreet investigation into the cases and prosecution of the suspects.
