The Bauchi state government has seek for partnership with the Nigeria Society of Engineers, (NSE) to check substandard materials, construction method or quacks in a move to end building and other infrastructure collapse.
The state governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed seek the partnership at the 2022 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the state branch of the Society of Engineers held in Bauchi.
The governor who represented by the Director General of the State Bureau for Public Procurement, Engineer Joshua Titus Sanga, appreciated the engineers for their key roles in ensuring quality, timely and cost effectiveness in the delivery of infrastructure.
He pointed out that, the role of Engineers in the development of a state such as Bauchi cannot be over emphasized, as no infrastructure such as water, road, electricity, buildings and other essential projects can be successfully conceived, designed, constructed and maintained without qualified engineers.
“It is s with great pleasure to be invited to participate in a great event of engineering professionals across the state. The theme of your Conference, Project Management: Challenge and lessons learned is very essential for your career as Project Manages. NSE Bauchi can be proud to have ample opportunities in projects management through the massive Engineering jobs being carried out by my Administration.
“With all these being driven by Engineers and other built professionals, I presume they benefited both in knowledge and wealth with the state favorably above others in infrastructure development. We as a government will be happy for more partnership with you in the monitoring of our projects as being piloted by the state COREN to ensure rapid development of the state.”
In a welcome address, the Chaiman of the state chapter of NSE, Engineer Muhammad Hadi Ibrahim commended the state government for working with the society of engineers to bring about the needed infrastructure development in the state.
