Bauchi State Police Command has lauded the unwavering commitment of the Bauchi State First Lady, Hajiya Aishatu Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad, in combating criminal activities, particularly sexual and gender-based violence in the State.
Commissioner of Police Bauchi State, Auwal Musa Muhammad, praised the First Lady during the end-of-year awards ceremony held at the Command headquarters in Bauchi.
Hajiya Aishatu Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad was honored with the “Mother’s Achievement in Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Committee” award.
The Commissioner highlighted the significant contributions of the First Lady, citing her donation of a Hilux vehicle, laptops, printers, and other logistics to enhance the operations of the Gender and Legal Department of the command.
He also acknowledged her role in facilitating investigations into cases of sexual and gender-based violence.
Expressing gratitude for the recognition, Hajiya Aishatu Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad commended the dedication of the Gender Unit of the Bauchi State Police Command.
She emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing the menace of sexual and gender-based violence.
Represented at the event by the wife of the Secretary to the Bauchi State Government, Habiba Ibrahim Kashim, the First Lady pledged continued support from her office in the fight against sexual and gender-based violence.
Hajiya Aishatu Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad emphasized the need for thorough investigation and prosecution of all cases, urging stakeholders, especially the police and the Ministry of Justice, to work together to ensure swift and fair justice.
The state First Lady also used the opportunity to appreciate the steadfast commitment of Bauchi State Governor, Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad, in maintaining the safety and security of Bauchi State which according to her Is the responsibility of every responsible Government.onsible Government.
