Twenty women farmers from various parts of Bauchi state have received five hundred thousand Naira each to support their farming endeavors.
The cash was presented to the beneficiaries by the Bauchi state first lady, Hajiya Aishatu Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad, who encouraged them to work hard for positive results.
This initiative falls under the Renewed Hope Initiative: Women Agricultural Support Program, recently launched by Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the first lady of Nigeria, to enhance agricultural productivity and empower women farmers.
In her remarks, the Bauchi state first lady, also the Northeast Zonal Coordinator of the program, emphasized the importance of agriculture in achieving sustainable development and food sufficiency.
She aligned this effort with President Bola Ahmad Tinubu’s agenda to prioritize agriculture for food security in Nigeria.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Hadiza Muhammad expressed gratitude, stating that the support comes at a crucial time given the economic challenges affecting farming businesses.
The beneficiaries commended Senator Oluremi Tinubu for the program and pledged to utilize the funds judiciously to expand their farming activities, contributing to both local and national food production.
