The people of Boi community in Bogoro LGA of Bauchi state have embarked on the construction of a new police station.
Speaking at the foundation laying ceremony in Boi on Saturday 10th June 2024 the National President Boi Progressive Association BPA Reverend Philemon Kichime JP said it was observes that the police lacks befitting office accommodation and to motivate them to do their job the community decided to embarked on the project.
He said the people of Boi will continue to offer the police the required morale support to enable them discharge their duty effectively.
The president disclosed that the new police station comprises of Reception, armoury, male and female cells and offices is singlehandedly sponsored by some few individuals in the community.
Rev Philemon Kichime urged members of the community to make their contribution to enable the project completed before the end of the year.
Also speaking, the chairman of Bogoro LGA Mr Markus Bitrus Lusa commended the people of Boi for their selfless sacrifice.
“I want to commend those who contributed to this project. What you have done is worthy of emulation. I want other communities to learn” he said
The chairman represented by his vice Mr Timothy Andrew calls on philanthropist and well to do members of the community to support the police in ensuring safety of life and properties.
In a remark the project coordinator Mr Godiya Haruna expresses gratitude to those who supported the initiative and pledge that the next project to be carried out is the construction of the magistrate court complex.
