L-PRES National Team Visits Bauchi On A Technical Support Mission

In a bid to enhance agricultural productivity and ensure food security, the livestock productivity and Resilience Support (L-PRES) has embarked on a technical support mission in Bauchi.

Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support (L-Pres) which is a World Bank project is aimed at addressing the challenges facing livestock farming while promoting sustainable practices that bolster the resilience of rural communities.

The visit according to the National co’ordinator of L-PRES, Sanusi Abdulkadir is to have a first hand information through high-level discussion surrounding the government’s steadfast commitment to the successful execution of the L-PRES activities within the state.

The entourage visited Sullubawa village where they inspected a milk collection centre as well as other structures constructed by the federal ministry of agriculture to improve the living standards of pastoralists in the state.

They were also received at the Bauchi meat processing company limited, and saw for themselves the challenges there as well as how to intervene in that direction.
The National co’ordinator, Sanusi Abdulkadir said he is impressed with what is on ground in Bauchi pointing out that the Bauchi state L Pres is focused in changing the lives of livestock farmers in the state.

The Bauchi state commissioner ministry of agriculture, Professor Simon Madugu Yalams appreciated the team for the visit, and assured them of the state government’s commitment to play its part towards the actualisation of all projects that will benefit the masses.

Earlier speaking, the permanent secretary Bauchi state Ministry of agriculture, Alhaji Yakubu Jibrin Abdullahi opined that L-PRES project has come to stay in Bauchi, as Bauchi state governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad is known for agriculture friendly policies aimed at improving the living standard of farmers and pastoralists of the state.
