Dr. Ladan Salihu, a prominent political figure in Bauchi state has officially resigned his membership from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a letter addressed to the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Hardo Ward, under the Bauchi Local Government Area, Dr. Salihu cited his disillusionment with the party’s direction as the reason for his decision.
“My decision is necessitated by my belief and conviction that the party has jettisoned the core principles, vision, and mission of its founding fathers,” the letter read.
He further expressed disappointment over what he described as the “stranglehold which anti-democratic and anti-party elements have on the party.”
While stepping away from the PDP, Dr. Salihu extended his gratitude to the party for the opportunity to serve. “I am grateful for the opportunity the Party accorded me to serve our people and wish you the very best,” he stated.
