The wives of members of the Bauchi State House of Assembly have reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the community development initiatives led by the First Lady of Bauchi State, Hajiya Aishatu Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad. This pledge was made during a significant gathering hosted by the First Lady, where discussions centered on enhancing community engagement and youth development in key sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, and economic empowerment.

In her address, the First Lady lauded the critical role of women as agents of change in society. She acknowledged their influence as supportive pillars for their husbands and as powerful catalysts for development within their communities. Hajiya Aishatu emphasized the need for the attendees to utilize their influence to champion initiatives that address pressing societal issues.

She further highlighted the impactful work of the Almuhibba Foundation, an organization under her leadership that has made significant strides in improving lives across Bauchi State. In education, the foundation has provided scholarships, constructed and equipped schools, and launched campaigns to promote access to quality education, especially for girls. In agriculture, rural women have been empowered through modern farming techniques and training programs aimed at enhancing food security and economic independence. Similarly, in healthcare, the foundation has organized health awareness campaigns and provided medical care in underserved areas, focusing on improving access to essential services for women and children. The foundation has also supported women’s empowerment through vocational training and leadership development initiatives.

The First Lady encouraged the wives of the lawmakers to play active roles in supporting these initiatives. She urged them to advocate for better education resources, promote agricultural innovations, and champion health awareness campaigns in their respective communities. According to her, these efforts would leave a lasting impact on future generations.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Hajiya Hafsat Aby Ahmed, wife of the Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, expressed gratitude to the First Lady for her visionary leadership. She described the First Lady’s efforts as inspirational and pledged the continued support of the lawmakers’ wives for her initiatives. Hajiya Hafsat noted that their visit was a testament to their solidarity with the First Lady and her mission to improve the lives of Bauchi residents. She assured the First Lady of their readiness to collaborate on future projects, stating, “This visit is an open expression of our solidarity with you, Mama. We stand ready to back your initiatives and projects at any time.”

The event concluded with a collective call for unity and collaboration among the women. Both the First Lady and the lawmakers’ wives expressed their shared commitment to advancing the development of Bauchi State. As the state transitions into a new year, the dedication of these influential women to fostering progress and addressing community challenges signals a brighter future for its citizens.
